Australian brand We Ponder was established in 2020 by Rose Kiselev. Rose started her career as an Interior Designer based on the Gold Coast, working professionally curating custom spaces across a vast range of residential and commercial projects.
‘We Ponder’ was born initially to provide interior design clients with the option to fall in love with Australian Handmade lighting products. Since then, We Ponder has brought light to hundreds of homes and commercial spaces across Australia, New Zealand and internationally.
The move to Tasmania came about when Rose was looking for a location that would continue to inspire and motivate so pondered with the idea of moving somewhere that would do exactly that. We Ponder is now officially and proudly handmade in Tasmania. Rose’s design ideas are brought to fruition by what she likes to call herself: “a Master Potter, almost”. The incredibly talented Tasmanian-born ceramicist was taught by Japanese Master Potter, Shigeo Shiga.
The raw material clay’s unique ability to be moulded into functional objects has been around for 20,000 years. We Ponder chooses to embrace this sentiment, reject trends, and honour this craft by creating timeless, individual pieces which meld beautifully into our modern lives.
